Who can attend the main and regional meetings and what do they cost?

Regional and main meetings are open to SAR members and members of any REALTOR® Association, and are free to attend. Locations and times are provided below.

Does SAR offer classes that meet my conditional license requirements?

Yes, SAR offers a home study with live review on a periodic basis. Classes are also offered at community colleges and real estate schools

What are SAR’s business hours?

7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Saturday - Member Services

How many hours of continuing education do I need to renew my license?

Real estate agents, (salesperson) first time renewals only:

  • One 3-hour course in ethics
  • One 3-hour course in agency
  • One 3-hour course in fair housing
  • One 3-hour course in trust fund handling

Real estate brokers, first time renewals only (never having renewed as a salesperson):

  • One 3-hour course in ethics
  • One 3-hour course in agency
  • One 3-hour course in fair housing
  • One 3-hour course in trust fund handling
  • At least 18 hours of courses specifically designated as consumer protection courses
  • An additional 15 hours of approved courses, which may be designated as either consumer protection or consumer service courses

Real estate salespersons and brokers, must complete a total of 45 hours of approved continuing education courses, including:

  • One 3-hour course in ethics
  • One 3-hour course in agency
  • One 3-hour course in fair housing
  • One 3-hour course in trust fund handling
  • At least 18 hours of courses specifically designated as consumer protection courses
  • An additional 15 hours of approved courses, which may be designated as either consumer protection or consumer service courses

Or

  • One 6-hour survey course with equal coverage of Ethics, Agency, Fair Housing and Trust Funds
  • At least 18 hours of courses specifically designated as consumer protection courses
  • An additional 21 hours of approved courses, which may be designated as either consumer protection or consumer service courses

Is there a point at which I am exempt from taking continuing education?

Yes, if you have been a salesperson in good standing for 30 consecutive years or more and are at least 70 years old you can complete the DRE’s Continuing Education Extension/Exemption Request Form, RE 213.

Am I eligible for Masters Club?

You may be eligible for Masters Club if you:

  • Have met the minimum annual $5 million volume or 30 closed escrows transactions
  • Submit the application documentation on time
  • Pay the required dues
