I am pleased to announce that the Sacramento Association of Realtors “Young Professionals Council” has been approved by the National Association of Realtors as an official member of their “Young Professionals Network.”

Our Young Professionals Council, (aka NAR’s Sacramento YPN Chapter) launched in late 2006 and was the result of an idea from an earlier SAR Strategic Planning session as a way to engage younger membership within the association.

YPC’s kick-off event was a group meeting at the association.  Since its begining, YPC has had monthly meetings/forums on the third Thursday of each month and has also expanded its networking opportunities by having Happy Hour mixers on the fourth Thursday of each month.  We have also raised thousands of dollars for local charities, the SAR Scholarship Fund, and C.A.R.’s Housing Affordability Fund via various fundraising events over the last couple years…on that note – don’t forget to attend our upcoming CanTree fundraiser – Dancing Through the Decades on November 13th!

For more information regarding SAR’s Young Professionals Council, contact Rico Rivera, Chair, at ricor@orhp.com.
