Sacramento REALTOR® Chris Little, Little Real Estate Services, received the President’s Award for 2009 from Charlene Singley, outgoing president, at the Installation and Awards Luncheon on January 5.
The President’s award is not selected by the Awards Selection Committee, but by the Association President. It may be awarded annually to a person that the President determines has made outstanding contributions to SAR during the period of the President’s term of office.
In her presentation, Charlene noted that Chris has been around the real estate business for a long time, but has been a member of SAR only since 2004.
During that time, however, he has accumulated quite a few designations: CRS, GRI, GREEN, Eco-Broker, ABR, SRES, and e-PRO. His additional NAR certifications: At Home with Diversity and the Transnational Referral Certification. He also graduated from SAR’s first Broker Training Institute.
Chris is a life-long Sacramentan, although he did leave Sacramento to attend the University of Oregon, where he earned a B.S. degree in Political Science.
Prior to becoming a REALTOR®, Chris was:
- The Alumni Director for Jesuit High School
- The Development Officer for UC Davis Medical Center
- A Campaign Consultant for a variety of local campaigns
His community activities include:
- Rotary Club
- Past President of Active 20-30 Club and served as a National Board Member of 20-30 Club
- Graduate of the City Planning Academy
- Appointed by Board of Supervisors to American River Parkway Advisory Committee (still on)
- Appointed by City Council to 65th St Redevelopment Advisory Committee
- Current President of the East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce
His SAR activities are just as extensive. He has served and continues to serve on:
- Education Committee since 2007
- Government Relations Committee
- Community Outreach Committee(Vice-chair 2008)
He is also:
- Regular attendee at Public Issues Forum
- PAC Trustee
- Vice-chair of SAR’s first Leadership Academy and is its current Chair, and
- Has already won an award from SAR for Civic Affairs.
Charlene noted she first asked Chris for some help before she even became President. When she had a position to fill on the Board, she asked him if he could spare a little more time for SAR to fill out the vacancy, and he graciously agreed. He was recently elected on his own for a two-year term to the Board of Directors.
“No matter what is asked of him, he has always stepped up to the plate, whether it was organizing volunteers for Rebuilding Together, the KVIE phone bank, or for a dodge ball tournament to raise funds for the Sacramento Food Bank, he is always on the front lines for SAR.
He is definitely one of the “best & the brightest”. His dedication to the success of SAR is impressive, and I am so very glad that he chose this time in his life to be active at SAR.”
