SAR Hosts Multi-Chamber Dinner Dance with Indus Valley American Chamber of Commerce

This past Friday night, SAR let its hair down and partied into the night with the Indus Valley American Chamber of Commerce.

A joint-chamber affair, this dinner/dance attracted nearly 250 local business owners and professionals from all over the region. Front and center at the event was SAR Leadership, including SAR President Barbara Harsch and President-Elect Doug Covill. Barbara graciously accepted an award on behalf of the Association, who provided the 5,600 sq-ft SAR Mack Powell Auditorium. The SAR Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity Committee was well represented at the affair. Members included Committee Chair Jennifer Odama, Scott Andrews, A.R. Cahee, Elena Crawford, Eva Garcia, Jeff Goodman, Bob Ingols, Malcom Merriman, Diana Perparos, Brian Ridgway, Tong Vue, Ted Williams, Lee Xiong and Susan Yang-Slan. Other prominent SAR Members, including Rosanna Garcia, Punam Kaura and TJ Thiara were also in attendance. SAR apologizes in advance for any SAR Members who were present, but not mentioned.

SAR Member Diana Perparos, who  also serves on the Indus Valley American Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, participated as MC for a portion of the event. Mr. Sukh Singh of the IVACC kept attendees focused on the fun, inviting Yuba City Mayor Honorable Kash Gill to the podium for an inspirational speech and to present the SAR award to Barbara Harsch. Also present was the Ex-Miss Sacramento and 2010 Miss California contestant Shaline J. DeGuzman.

The event lasted well into the night, prompting attendees to gravitate towards the dance floor. Rumor has it that even Members of SAR Leadership were seen “cutting a rug.” The Association is proud to be connected to the many local ethnic chambers.
