Friday, July 15th, 2011Tuesday the House of Representatives passed a five year re authorization of the National Flood Insurance Program by a vote of 406-22 (HR 1309). This major step forward was due in great part to REALTORS® being heard on this issues and contacting your Representative.
Locally Congresswoman Matsui was very active on this legislation. She and Congressman Lungren both voted in favor of the bill.
This is still a long way to go before this issue is finished. The Senate has not yet acted on this legislation.
We will keep you information on any future steps if they are needed in the Senate, and as the legislation progresses.
