childrens receiving home of Sacramento logoAs a shelter, the Children’s Receiving Home is a refuge, where children stay for an average of 35 to 40 days and can heal from the abuse they have suffered. While their future living arrangements are being explored, children receive:
• A comprehensive level of services including shelter, food, clothing
• Medical and dental attention
• Education at our on–site school
• Recreation and activities
• Counseling
• Social work intervention including case management services
• A full scale assessment and diagnosis
• Mental health screening the opportunity to process what they are experiencing among other children who have been through what they have been through

Women's EmpowermentWomen’s Empowerment is a holistic program that responds to the unique needs of each woman who is homeless. Through classes, counseling, career mentoring and peer support, she gains the tools to rebuild her life. On–site childcare and supportive services are offered in a safe, nurturing environment where each woman and her family are treated with respect.

The mission of Women’s Empowerment is to educate and empower women who are homeless with the skills and confidence necessary to get a job, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and regain a home for themselves and their children.
